Everyone wanting to audition must register using this registration form. . Please arrive at least 10- minutes early, and be prepared to wait for your audition.
Video Submission Auditions
Videos submission are due on November 28, 2023

Anyone auditioning for ensemble only or Cousin It will be required to record themselves at home and send in a video with the following information. The audition video consists of two parts: Monologue and Song. For your audition you will also need to attend the in-person dance audition (see below)
Solo Auditions (New for the 2024 Musical)
All solo auditions and call-backs will be held in the Saint Mark’s Choir Room. Anyone auditioning for a named character is required to perform a solo audition. Your audition will consist of a song and section of dialogue from the show. You will also have to participate in the dance audition. You will be allocated a specific window in which your audition will take place via email the week before audition week. Although we will aim to keep to the schedule, please be aware that you may have a wait time before your audition. The Audition Pack at the end of the document will include the song(s) and dialogue section(s) you will need to present at your audition.

Everyone is required to participate in a combined dance audition, led by our choreographers. . This is to assess your level of movement and dance ability. We do expect you to be willing to learn basic steps and to try your best. No need to prepare anything.

December 11, , 2023 - 3:30pm-4:30pm
Everyone auditioning for a named character must be prepared to attend call-backs if asked. You may be required to prepare an additional song and dialogue excerpt. If you are required for call-backs we will let you know, either at the end of your audition or via email shortly after. If you are not asked to attend call-backs, this does not mean you did not get the role. There are a lot of people auditioning.

The Addams Family Character Descriptions
Every role is an important part of our show! Below you will find adult roles and roles for children. Adult roles have an asterisk (*) next to them.
- *GOMEZ ADDAMS Male, tenor/baritone vocals Smart, comedic actor A suave, yet comical man who takes great pride in his family and revels in all it means to be an Addams. He struggles keeping his daughter’s secret from his wife, whom he adores more than death. Husband to Morticia. *IN-PERSON AUDITION REQUIRED*
- *MORTICIA ADDAMS Female, Alto/mezzo vocals Strong Matriarch, strong willed woman – the strength of the family. An easy comedic actress with a dry wit. Feels her husband is hiding something from her and will use any tactic to lure the secret out. She is the real head of the family and fears her daughter and her aren’t as close as they used to be. *IN-PERSON AUDITION REQUIRED*
- PUGSLEY ADDAMS Male (or Female), Alto vocals Troublesome Younger Brother A funny and sometimes annoying young boy who loves being tortured by his sister. He wants to ensure he won’t lose his sister to her new boyfriend so he takes matters into his own hands. Strong, high vocals. *IN-PERSON AUDITION REQUIRED*
- WEDNESDAY ADDAMS Female, Pop Soprano/Mezzo vocals Adventurous daughter Wednesday is a girl who has the same dry wit and sensibility of her mother. Finds love with a “normal” boy (Lucas) and wants to introduce his family to hers. She experiences the lovesick drama that comes with first love and when two very different families meet. She longs for the approval of her parents but isn't afraid to show her rebellious side. Very strong pop singer. *IN-PERSON AUDITION REQUIRED*
- *UNCLE FESTER Male (or Female) tenor/baritone vocals Vaudeville-style Comedian, That one awkward family member who serves as the musical’s narrator. He’s larger than life, an energetic, joyous, child-like presence. Uncle Fester is incorrigible and, except for the good nature of the family and the ignorance of the police, would ordinarily be under lock and key. *IN-PERSON AUDITION REQUIRED*
- *GRANDMA-MA Female, Character vocals Comedic actress She’s one feisty old woman. Fun and quirky, but don’t mess with her. Grandma often schemes with Pugsley and offers advice when needed. She’s more of an oddball than a typical, comforting grandmother figure. *IN-PERSON AUDITION REQUIRED*
- LUCAS BEINEKE Male Tenor Vocals. Fell in love with Wednesday Addams and plans to marry her. Experiences the youthful pain and drama of young love and struggles with the differences between his family and the Addams family. Lucas is a ‘normal guy who's a little dorky. Wednesday absolutely intrigues him. *IN-PERSON AUDITION REQUIRED*
- *MAL BEINEKE Male, high baritone/tenor vocals Stuffy father of Lucas and exasperated husband to his rhyming Stepford wife, Alice. At one time was a follower of a grungy, dark band, but has lost that side of himself and has become a stereotypical businessman. Always looking out for his family’s future and how they might look to his colleagues and the rest of the world.*IN-PERSON AUDITION REQUIRED*
- *ALICE BEINEKE Female, Soprano vocals Charming housewife comedic actress Mother of Lucas, devoted to her family so she puts aside her own desires. Alice is a quirky female who often speaks in rhymes and falls prey to the latest fads or quick fixes to her family or personal life. While at the Addams family dinner party, she drinks a potion that causes her to let her hair down and speak the truth rather than always appearing as “perfect”, *IN-PERSON AUDITION REQUIRED*
- *LURCH Male (or Female), Groans Most Likely a Zombie Butler The Addams butler who knows all, but says less. He speaks in moans and groans. *IN-PERSON AUDITION REQUIRED*
- COUSIN IT - Male or Female - Vocal Range SA (Unchanged Voice) Iconic Addams Family member, Cousin It will weave in and out as the story unfolds. No “speaking” necessary. Will double as an ancestor. AUDITION BY VIDEO SUBMISSION
- ENSEMBLE - ADDAMS ANCESTORS Ancestors of the Addams family now live on ‘the other side’, but are summoned once a year to come celebrate with the family. They help tell the story, offer advice and interact with the characters throughout the play. The Addams' ancestors from various eras serve as the chorus for the show and help bring the story to life. They will be featured both singing and dancing throughout the entire show. AUDITION BY VIDEO SUBMISSION

- Bride Ancestor, after being left at the alter, she is looking for some revenge.
- Groom Ancestor, after leaving his bride at the alter, he is forever running from her and her wicked plots.
- Stewardess Ancestor, as one of the successful Addams Family members, she wants to make sure others in the family follow in her footsteps.
- Flapper Ancestor- A dancer from the 20’s, she’s here to have a good time and keep the party rolling.
- Conquistador Ancestor, the Spanish conqueror of the family, he wants to rule the world and won’t stop until he gets it.
- Caveman Ancestor, Having little knowledge about current times, he finds himself scared of everything.
- Soldier Ancestor, as the military man of the family. He likes rules and order. Sailor Ancestor can be a real pain and his goal is to straighten him out.
- Sailor Ancestor, the carefree, sea loving family member who want’s to find his way back to the ocean. Having some conflict with Soldier Ancestor might slow him down.
- Bride Ancestor, after being left at the alter, she is looking for some revenge.
Here are a few tips to help you prepare:
RESEARCH AND PREPARE
- Character Voices - Many characters in this show have a fantastical voice or an accent to bring them to life. Practice your character voice and let’s see it in your audition tape!
- Expect Your Best – Setting high standards for yourself will help you to perform well.
- Be Prepared – Take the time to understand what you’re singing, memorize the song, and show that you can perform! (Don’t just sing!)
- Be Confident - Relax and believe in yourself, but demonstrate stage presence, and project your voice.
- Make eye contact with the camera!
- Have Fun - This process is about having fun, so be proud that you have had the courage to audition, and be excited by the knowledge that you will be part of something special regardless of the part you are assigned.
